Monitoring and evaluation

Studying the campaigns performance

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) planning should begin early in the programme planning process, and be integrated into the campaign planning, development and implementation. M&E activities are used to help your team track campaign progress and interventions to assess whether the programme has met its goals. Activities should be part of a comprehensive plan designed to promote continuous programmatic learning, which your team can use to adjust the campaign activities and strategy to make the programme work better.

In IYCF SBCC campaigns, programme performance indicators related to nutrition knowledge, attitudes and behaviours are important to ensure that IYCF behaviours are directly addressed.

To support this aim, M&E activities often track campaign implementation, whether community members have been exposed to and remember elements from the campaign, the primary audience has changed their IYCF behaviours, and much more.
