Planning and formative research provide a vital foundation for social behaviour change communications (SBCC) campaign development and implementation. At this stage, you will firstly create a team, define its way of working, and outline the budget and timeline. Next, you will assess and understand the IYCF situation in your location, identify a primary audience for the campaign, and learn more about what is needed to help them practice the recommended IYCF behaviours. Lastly, finalise your behavioural objectives and possible messages to guide the campaign.
