Name your programme
Finally, with an IYCF behaviour priority and campaign goal, name your programme so you can effectively communicate with others about it. It may not be especially creative at this stage, but it should summarize the basic information about what you and your team will be working on.
The programme name will be used in the Development Phase of campaign development as you recruit a creative agency to support campaign development.
Objective: Choose a programme name that provides an overview of the campaign by summarising its theme, purpose and location.
Instructions
- You may have a standard way that programmes are named in your organisation. If not, programmes can be summarised using the following templates:
- Using social behaviour change communications (SBCC) to [fill in the IYCF behaviour your campaign will influence] in [your location].
- Developing a social behaviour change (SBC) campaign to [fill in the IYCF behaviour your campaign will influence] in [your location].
- Using the templates above, example titles could include the following: “Using social behaviour change communications (SBCC) to encourage exclusive breastfeeding for infants in Tanzania” or “Developing a social behaviour change (SBC) campaign to improve complementary feeding practices in Mozambique.”
- If you are considering targeting multiple IYCF behaviours, consider using a broader programme name. The following templates could be used to fulfil this goal:
- Using social behaviour change communications (SBCC) to improve Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices in [your location].
- Developing a social behaviour change (SBC) campaign to improve Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices in [your location].
- Other information to include in your programme name may include your primary audience, for e.g., mothers of infants and children under two years of age, media channels, such as social media and community mobilisation, and more.
- Try to keep your programme name to about 15 words or less to avoid becoming too difficult to communicate.
